Ibrahim Bin Adham was contemporary to Junaid Baghdadi (R.A).
Once he was in a journey, he came across a person in the way, he asked about
his name. Ibrahim RA pointed towards the grave yard the person who was a sepoy
got hot, and remarked why he is kidding? he angrily insulted him and put a
rope around the neck of the Ibrahim R.A and dragged him to the place of nearby
inhabited locality. A person of the locality understood and recognised Ibrahim
bin Adham RA. and reproved the sepoy as to what sin he had committed? when he
came to know that the righteous figure was Ibrahim (R.A), he lied prostate before him and
requested to pardon him. In turn Ibrahim RA replied --- “your deed of atrocity
has rendered me entitled for entrance in paradise, and therefore, I pray in your favour, that you also enter
the paradise.
An elderly pious man saw in a dream that people already in
paradise are with plenty of pearls with each. In dream itself he wanted to know
about the reason for pearls. He was told that an unknown person has hit the head
of Ibrahim Bin Adham by hammer and we have been ordered that when that man
enters the paradise all these pearls will be offered and showered in his honour.
H Mohammad Sufi describes that once I was with Ibrahim RA in the journey towards “betul-muqaddas
“ and performed salaatul Zohar under a
small and dense tree of pomegranate. When they were free the tree politely requested them --- “please taste my fruits in order to benefit in my status” Ibrahim RA plucked two fruits one given to
Mubrak Sufi and one he him self consumed. Although the fruits where not sweet. When
both of them returned, reached the same place and plucked the fruits, the size of
the fruits as well the taste was much improved and became very sweet. Not only this, the benefit
extended to the tree resulted in multiple period of its fruitation, this was a
miracle. Later on this tree was named” rassanul
abedeen “
Ibrahim Bin Adham
once was sleeping near bank of DAZLA River in his thin bedding. Some body came and asked him --- why he left
the power of possession and ruling the
people , and what gain he received in turn? Listening this Ibrahim RA threw
away his only possesion a needle (which was for mending the thin bedding) in the DAZLA River.He
observed that a very large number of fishes started appearing with golden needle
in the mouth of each. Ibrahim RA requested --- Please give me my needle only. One
of the fishes brought his needle and handed over to Ibrahim RA. He then explained
the person about rejecting the power of
ruling, and in turn, and how he received this ordinary needle . When he wanted to
take out of water from nearby well, he
saw that the container drawn up was full
of gold instead of water. He put back the gold into the well. And in the second effort he received
the container full of silver he put it back again into the well and in his
third effort the container was full of beautiful pearls. On this, he supplicated
and requested God with full politeness --- O Allah I require water to clean my
Body, for salaat etc, I do not have any liking for the gold or the other precious
things.
In the journey for Hajj once his fellowmen revealed that
they did not have arrangement for any thing little or more for eating. Ibrahim
RA replied --- believe in God and pray. He pointed to see towards that
big tree which had completely transformed into tree of Gold. It was sufficient for
them all, to meet the need for food etc for all of them and for number of years.
Once, near an old fort Ibrahim RA stayed with some elderly
righteous people and started burning the dry grass for the fire needed for
cooking some body reported in light of fire there is availability of water and
if some how they get the flesh they may roast it and consume. He replied all
should fall in Sajada “and pray for the same, after a while ,they heard that a
Lion with a dear in his control was proceeding towards them. And put the
dear near them. after Zibah” all the
people of party roasted the flesh and till all of them completely consumed the
flesh, that Lion remained in their service as guard. And disappeared after this
incident was over.
